  1. It's time to vote for your favorite business or experience for the Best of North Atlanta title! Voting takes place through Aug. 15 and the top two winners in each category will get great prizes and bragging rights. The winners will be announced in a special edition of Appen newspapers. The categories include food and beverage, medical, services and more. (Appen)
  2. Motorists in Milton may be experiencing delays through Birmingham Crossroads due to construction of a new mini roundabout there. In addition, GDOT will be paving in the State Route 372-Hickory Flat Road/Birmingham Road area overnight until 6 a.m. today. If there are delays due to weather or other factors, the project could take longer. There will be flaggers to help out with delays. (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  3. Do you enjoy singing? You should check out Alpharetta's Community Chorus, which is a non-auditioned group. Currently, there are openings for singers in all sections, especially tenor and bass. You're welcome to come to the first rehearsal of the season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 8 at the Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, located at 180 Academy St. to check out the program. (Alpharetta Community Chorus)
  4. It's hot this week, and it's important to stay safe and not become overcome by the heat. In addition, the air quality has been unhealthy for some people. This link: https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/...has suggestions on how to determine if someone has heat stroke, heat exhaustion, heat cramps or other ailments from the hot temperatures. (City of Milton)
