  1. A portion of Wills Road in Alpharetta will be closed for six months as part of the construction project to improve Highway 9. The affected area is near the intersection with Main Street and extends to Old Milton Parkway. Detour signs will be placed, and drivers are asked to go slowly and use caution in this area.   2. The Guitar Center Store in Alpharetta was recently robbed; a man made off with more than $3,000 worth of merchandise using identity fraud with a stolen card. After the individual left the store, employees were notified that the card used for the transaction had been stolen. A similar theft occurred at a guitar store in Atlanta. (Appen Media)
  3. Milton held its first "Toddler Tuesday" this week and a fun time was had by all. Over 40 toddlers and their parents played and got to know each other at Milton City Park and Preserve’s Community Center. The next one is scheduled on Sept. 12 from 9-11 a.m. and participation is free! (City of Milton, Georgia - Government via Facebook)
  4. Are you interested in getting some exercise on the weekends? On Saturday mornings, there is a "Boot Camp" class at Milton's City Park and Preserve.   • Fire department crews from North Fulton joined together for training and "multi jurisdiction drills." It was a great opportunity to share knowledge, procedures and learn from the different departments. The crews were from Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton, Johns Creek and Sandy Springs.   • An Alpharetta couple was threatened at gunpoint at their Huntington Place apartment. They called police on July 14, and reported that their neighbor pointed a gun with a suppressor at them. He was allegedly trying to recruit the husband to become a hit man and “to do gang stuff with him.” (Appen Media)
  • Birmingham Falls Elementary School is hosting a Coffee and Connect event for new families. It will take place on Aug. 24 at 7:45 a.m. in the media center. (Birmingham Falls Elementary School via Facebook)
