Here are the top five stories today in Alpharetta-Milton:

  1. The Wire And Wood Music Festival will return on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8 in downtown Alpharetta. The festival will be from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each day. Admission will be free. The festival will have more than 30 different performances on six outdoor stages throughout the city's downtown district. (Press Release Desk)
  2. The Fulton County District Attorney has sent "target letters" to several top Georgia Republicans. The letters are the first sign that the District Attorney might be moving towards charges in the ongoing investigation into an attempt to overturn the state's 2020 General Election. Republican lieutenant governor contender Burt Jones, Georgia GOP Chairman David Shafer, and Republican state Sen. Brandon Beach are among those that received the target letters. (Washington Examiner)
  3. Two sculptures have been recommended by the Alpharetta Cultural Arts Commission. The sculptures would be placed at the Lakeview development on Lakeview Drive. The first sculpture would be placed near the Alpha Loop entrance. The second sculpture would be designed to hide a utility box supplying power for the central park's amenities.   4. The City of Milton is recognizing its exemplary employees through a new program. Employees can be nominated using the city's new form. The program is meant to recognize employees that exhibit the city's core values: teamwork, ownership, leadership, and rural heritage support. Click the following link to nominate.   5. Fulton County Health Department had a scheduling mishap during its Monkeypox vaccination clinic's registration. The system turned away residents that had signed up for the clinic. The system even sent some residents an email that said their appointment was canceled. The county is prioritizing the area's most vulnerable residents first. (CBS46)
