Game To Resume Shortly at Sanford Stadium

UPDATE: UGA Athletics said the game will resume at 3:15 p.m.

The Georgia Bulldogs game against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks has been suspended.

UGA Athletics wrote on Twitter that lightning was detected within five miles of the stadium. Players are expected to return to the field at 3:02 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the area with scattered thunderstorms possible this afternoon and early evening. Although severe weather is not anticipated, a few strong storms are possible with brief gusty winds, occasional cloud to ground lightning and locally heavy rain.
