The information in this story comes from the ACC Police Department. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

The offender grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against the cabinets, she said. He then picked her up and slammed her onto the floor causing her to momentarily black out. When she came to, she went to the door in an attempt to leave. The offender stopped her so she went to the bedroom, she told police.

Around 3:30am she again tried to leave but the offender pulled back into the residence by her hair. A struggle ensued and after several minutes, the woman was able to break free and run out of the residence. As she ran to her vehicle, the offender chased her with an ax.

Police officers went to the residence and made contact with the offender, Johnathan Scye McCollum, 32. He was arrested and charged with Attempted Aggravated Assault, Battery, and False Imprisonment under the Family Violence Act.
