12-Year-Old Girl Killed, Toddler Injured In Car Crash

The crash happened late Wednesday afternoon in southeast Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA -- A 12-year-old girl was killed and a toddler injured late Wednesday afternoon when a car struck a tree in SE Atlanta. According to police, the crash happened around 6 pm near Glenwood Avenue SE and Second Avenue SE. Police said the toddler, 18 months old, is in stable condition.

The 12-year-old girl was unresponsive when police arrived, and she later died from her injuries at Egleston Hospital.

Police said a woman, 53, who was in the car, suffered two broken legs. She was taken to Atlanta Medical Center.
