Hospitals from Atlanta to LaGrange to down south in Thomasville are among some of the best hospitals in the U.S., a new survey showed.
GEORGIA — Nineteen hospitals have been ranked the best in Georgia in a new report from Newsweek.
Emory University Hospital in Atlanta is the top-ranked hospital in Georgia in Newsweek and data partner Statista’s America’s Best In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking of more than 700 medical centers nationwide.

The 2025 best in-state hospitals list features medical facilities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The hospitals were ranked based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and national surveys, including:
- The American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, an online nationwide survey among medical professionals;
- Results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-experience surveys; and
- Voluntary implementation surveys on PROMs (patient-reported outcome measures).
