2025 Fall Forecast May Unveil Surprising Season In GA
AccuWeather on Wednesday released its 2025 fall forecast for the U.S., including in Georgia, where families may prep for autumn activities.

The upcoming fall season will have some dry periods without precipitation in Georgia, according to an AccuWeather forecast released Wednesday.
After facing a rainy summer, Georgians will welcome a meteorological fall on Sept. 1. Astronomical autumn on the equinox will begin at 2:19 p.m. EDT on Sept. 22.
Temperatures in the Peach State are anticipated to be about a degree or two warmer than its historical average as fall heats up across the nation, according to AccuWeather.

“A slower transition to fall is expected along much of the East Coast from the Carolinas to parts of the Northeast and even New England," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Expert Paul Pastelok said in a news release. "... There is a clear trend of hot and sticky summer weather sticking around longer into the back-to-school season across much of the East Coast and many other parts of the country.”
By late October and November, cold air will force some parts of the U.S. to don heavy coats and hoodies. However, AccuWeather predicted both the Southeast and the Southwest will continue to be hit by warm temperatures.

Hurricane season, which will be ongoing well through Nov. 30, may prompt some to moderate flood risks and some severe weather concerns in Georgia.
"AccuWeather expert meteorologists urge families and businesses to ensure emergency supplies are restocked and safe rooms or storm shelters are ready for use, ahead of the ‘second severe weather season’ in the U.S.," the private weather company said in the release.
Thirteen to 18 named storms are forecast for the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season. Of those, seven to 10 may become hurricanes, and three to five could be major to align with the 30-year historical average of three, AccuWeather reported.
Tropical Storm Dexter is the latest system to be on meteorologists' radar, which was near the Carolina coast on Wednesday.
