5 Fall Fairs, Festivals In GA To Put On Your Itinerary

​Patch has gathered all you need to know about five upcoming festivals and fairs, offering everything from beer to the arts to funnel cakes.

Beer, barbecue - and yes, funnel cakes - will be on display at five upcoming fall fairs and festivals in Georgia.

These events have become tradition in the Peach State as the masses flock to some of them, such as the Georgia National Fair, which received a special proclamation this year.

Patch has gathered all you need to know about these festivals and fairs.

55th Annual Helen Oktoberfest 2025

What: The longest-running Oktoberfest in the U.S., this annual event will include a parade that will be held at noon, Sept. 6. Then, the tapping of the first keg will commence at the Fussen Biergarten at the Helen Festhalle. A costume contest will take place on Halloween night.

When: Sept. 4-Nov. 2

Where: Helen Festhalle, 1074 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen

Ticket Pricing: Tickets vary, starting at $10 per person for admission only and $30 per person for admission and a German dinner. On Sunday, admission is free into festival, but tickets are $20 per person for the German dinner.

Georgia National Fair

What: The 36th annual fair will feature livestock competitions, concerts, horses, rides, food and Georgia Living competitions. This year, Gov. Brian Kemp proclaimed the popular event as the Georgia National Fair Dedicated to America250, foreshadowing the 250th birthday of the U.S. in 2026.

When: Oct. 2-12

Where: Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricultural Center, 401 Larry Walker Pkwy., Perry

Ticket Pricing: A flash sale will run from 9 a.m., Aug. 25, until 9 p.m., Aug. 26, when tickets will be $10 per person. General pricing ticket costs were not immediately available. Group ordering for admission and rides are available until 5 p.m., Sept. 12.

Atlanta Food and Wine Festival

What: This event will feature well-known chefs, such as Andrew Zimmern and Scott Conant - both seen on Food Network. Other chefs are Crystal Drakes of Crescent City Kitchen, Ebony Austin of Nouveau Bar and Grill and Food Network "BBQ Brawl" champion, Kyle Bryner of Blue Hound Barbecue.

When: Sept. 11-14 (times vary)

Where: Old Fourth Ward Skatepark/Historic Fourth Ward, 830 Willoughby Way, Atlanta

Ticket Pricing: Varies based on activity.

Georgia State Fair

What: Annual fair that includes the Jurassic Lockdown Dinosaur Show, Rastelli Circus, a comedy hypnotist, karaoke, carnival rides, kiddie rides, food, a performance from Mad Chad the Chainsaw Juggler and a petting zoo.

When: Sept. 26-Oct. 5 (times vary)

Where: Atlanta Motor Speedway, 1500 Tara Place, Hampton

Ticket Pricing: Early admission for adults aged 18 to 64 is $11.40. Anyone with a military ID can pay $6.20. Adults at least 65 years old will receive admission costing $5.25, while tickets for teenagers ages 13 to 17 must pay $11.40, excluding after 5 p.m. Saturdays for teenagers. Tickets for children aged 5 to 12 cost $6.20. Prices will raise at the gate, excluding for children aged 4 or younger, who will receive free entry. Ride wristbands are $30 for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the wristbands will cost $35. A deal of 2 wristbands for $40 will be available on Tuesday and Thursday.

Piedmont Park Arts Festival

What: This event will include 250 painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metalwork, glass blowers, jewelers and crafters. Artist demonstrations, live acoustic music, a children’s play area and food will be available.

When: Aug. 16-17. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Where: Piedmont Park, Midtown (see directions here)

Ticket Pricing: Not immediately available.
