  2. If you've seen more officers around Atlanta parks lately, there's a good reason: the Atlanta Police Department has launched its Summer Safety Program to address crime in city parks. According to Sgt. John Chafee, the department has seen an uptick in narcotics sales inside and around Butler Park. APD officers have recently ramped up their bike patrols in the area to increase visibility and "stay ahead of crime trends." (WSB-TV 2)
  3. The Empowerment Resource Center (ERC) will offer confidential, free HIV testing at Woodruff Park on Thursday, Jun. 23. The event, developed in support of National HIV Testing Day, will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Members of the outreach team will be available at the park for rapid testing as well as counseling. 4. The Atlanta Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding a person of interest in a January homicide case. Homicide detectives with the department are looking for 37-year-old Terry Lynn Roach, known to frequent the Pine Street area where the fatal shooting took place. Roach is reportedly wanted for questioning and does not have an active murder warrant out on him at the time of publication.
