  1. A seven-year-old girl was shot in the head after an argument at a family gathering escalated, according to Atlanta police. The victim was a bystander to the argument when gunfire was exchanged at the Camden Vantage apartments on Jackson Street. The girl died before arriving at the hospital. Police say they want to capture the person responsible as quickly as possible. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Metro Atlanta mother Laquedia Moore is battling Peripartum cardiomyopathy and needs a heart transplant after giving birth four months ago. Moore developed the rare heart condition due to to her recent childbirth when an EKG revealed her heart was only functioning at 10 percent. Moore's husband has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help with expenses because he can't go back to work with her in the hospital and their three children to take care of. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is looking into the possible involvement of an alleged ally of former President Donald Trump in interference in the 2020 election in Coffee County – 200 miles south of Atlanta. Willis wants attorney Sidney Powell to testify before a grand jury investigating the election interference. The interference in question is a breach of voting equipment in the county where Trump earned 40 percentage points more than his opponent. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  4. Atlanta Black Pride begins on Sept. 1, and will focus on health and equity in Georgia. In addition to a celebration, the events planned will aim to provide resources to the LGBTQIA+ community. Atlanta Black Pride Organizer Melissa Scott said, "We're going to be doing some monkeypox testing and vaccines as well as COVID-19 tests and vaccines." (11Alive.com WXIA)
  5. Neighbors in a metro Atlanta neighborhood in Lithonia are concerned after a woman was shot in her vehicle. Police responded to a call on Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Dunbarton Drive near Panola Road where a 30-year-old woman was shot in her vehicle. As of Sunday afternoon, the condition of the victim was unknown and the incident remained under investigation. (CBS 46 News)
