AMC Reopens 9 Theaters In Georgia On Thursday
On Thursday only, moviegoers can see tickets for only 15 cents plus tax.
ATLANTA, GA — For the first time in five months, nine AMC Theatres in Georgia are reopening their doors to patrons and offering a special treat for moviegoers on Thursday.
In a promotion called “Movies in 2020 at 1920 Prices,” the chain of theaters is offering admission for only 15 cents, plus sales tax, on Thursday.
In a release, AMC said Thursday's reopening is the first move in a phased plan that aims to have some 400 U.S. theaters open by Sept. 3.

In Georgia, these nine theaters opened on Thursday:
- AMC Columbus 15
- AMC Avenue Forsyth 12
- AMC Colonial 18
- AMC Parkway Pointe 15
- AMC Phipps Plaza 14
- AMC DINE-IN North Point 12
- AMC North Dekalb Mall 16
- AMC Southlake Pavilion 24
- AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18
AMC said in coming weeks, its theaters will show fan favorites from the past like "Black Panther," "Inception" and more for only a $5 admission price. Concessions including regular popcorn servings, Coca-Cola Freestyle drinks and kids packs will also be $5 through the end of October.

In a statement, AMC Theatres CEO and President Adam Aron said 2020 marks the theater chain's 100th anniversary.
"As our guests return on our first day of resumed operations on August 20, we invite them to join us in celebrating a return to the movies, and in celebrating 100 years of AMC making smiles happen with movies at 1920 prices of only 15 cents each,” Aron said.
