- Officials at the Southwest Ecumenical Emergency Assistance Center are searching for a new location. The organization has operated out of the basement of West Hunter Street Baptist Church since 2007, but received a notice to vacate the space. While the article doesn't say why exactly the Center was told to vacate the space, the organization is now scrambling to find a new home. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- An employee at a downtown Atlanta high-rise apartment was killed by a tenant in an outburst of anger, according to police. The 60-year-old victim was reportedly killed at the Cosby Spears Memorial Towers on Aug. 4. - A man was arrested after firing shots near a MARTA station and terrorizing a local neighborhood. According to police, 21-year-old Alim Bridges was caught on camera in the parking lot at the Inman Park MARTA station firing shots from his rifle. He was charged with two counts of reckless conduct and discharging a firearm near a public highway or street. (WSB Atlanta)
- On Thursday evening, the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management's crews finished repairs on a broken water main at 700 Westlake Parkway Southwest. The 12-inch main provides water to four warehouses and three hydrants. (Atlanta Department of Watershed Management via Facebook)
