  1. According to a recent study, Atlanta is the best place to be if you're single. A WalletHub analysis compared 182 cities and rated them based on economics, fun, recreation, and dating opportunities. Atlanta scored in the top 10 cities with booming nightlife and other locations to meet someone new. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  2. The family of a 16-year-old student at a Clayton County high school in Georgia agreed to a $10-million settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit with the school district. In 2019, Imani Bell was at basketball practice, running bleachers in the heat, when she collapsed and later died from heat-related cardiac arrest and kidney failure. The school district will also rename the gymnasium at Elite Scholars Academy to honor Bell. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. A Fulton County judge revoked a murder conviction against six Fulton County Sheriff's deputies who were accused of killing a Fulton inmate last year. Antonio May was dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues when he was shocked with a stun gun and pepper sprayed in jail. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. An Atlanta man was charged with driving under the influence after hitting a car on the shoulder of I-85. Andre Enrico Simpson, 49, was driving with his two grandsons, reportedly uninjured. Simpson was released from jail the same day with $3,725 in bonds. (Newnan Times-Herald)
  5. DeKalb police found a 50-year-old man who was shot on Monday night. His identity has yet to be released by officials. According to witnesses at the scene, the suspect verbally argued with the victim before he was shot. The suspect is now in custody. (WSB Atlanta)
