Atlanta Boat Show Sets Sails for Downtown

Event will be held at Georgia World Congress Center beginning Thursday.

ATLANTA, GA -- It will be sails away in downtown Atlanta this week as the Atlanta Boat Show comes to town.

Mayor Kasim Reed will be on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate 55 years of the event on Thursday, the show's first day.

The four-day event is will feature more than 150 exhibitors and is expected to draw more than 23,000 people downtown.

Attendees will be able to take part in interactive exhibits, fishing seminars and workshops on nautical education. Nearly $500 million annually is spent in Georgia on boating and marine-related products, according to an Atlanta Boat Show news release.
