- Atlanta food banks are preparing for increased fall and winter demands to feed families. Groups like Hosea Helps and Emmaus House food pantry say they are already seeing more requests for food from families in the area due to inflation prices. Adam Seeley of Emmaus House says there are plenty of resources available, but the number of people they can help is limited due to how quickly appointments fill up. (WABE 90.1 FM)
- Requests for rides blossomed during a new MARTA pilot program. During a six-month trial period, the on-demand shuttle service experienced steady growth. The shuttle rides cost $2.50, which is the same as a normal bus fare. Around 8,300 rides were booked during the trial period and mainly appeared to be used for going to work. (WABE 90.1 FM)
- Gas prices have continued to drop and Georgia drivers are paying less at the pump. Gas prices in the state are down to $3.18, which is seven cents less than it was last Monday. In total, drivers are now paying almost $5 less than a month ago. The most expensive Georgia metro markets are Savannah, Atlanta, and Hinesville-Fort Stewart. (WSB Atlanta)
- After a Berkley Heights apartment complex shooting, one is dead and two are wounded. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. Monday, leaving two victims shot in their legs. Authorities are searching for a silver sedan and its driver. (Atlanta Patch)
- A woman has been killed in a hit-and-run on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in Northwest Atlanta. Officers responded around 2:20 a.m. and the female was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. The woman was identified on Monday afternoon as 33-year-old Brittany P. Glover from San Antonio, Texas. (CBS 46 News)
