Atlanta, Fulton School Schedules Set After GA's Winter Storm
School officials in Fulton County and Atlanta have decided whether or not to open campuses on Wednesday as wintry weather lingers in GA.
ATLANTA, GA — Schools in Fulton County and Atlanta will close Wednesday, a day after a southern winter storm brought freezing temperatures and snow to Georgia.

Fulton County schools will shift to a remote learning day. School officials on Tuesday said the change was made in response to winter conditions and "potentially unsafe travel conditions in parts of Fulton County."
Staff members will remotely work, and teachers will give instructions to students, school officials said.

Extracurricular activities have been canceled. This includes after-school and evening meetings, extended day programs and after-school care, tutorials, clubs, athletic practices and games, school officials said.
The community meetings for board members Sara Gillespie (District 1), Katie Gregory (District 3) and Kristin McCabe (District 5) will be remotely held. The Fulton County School System will share virtual links on its website.

"Fulton County Schools is committed to the safety and well-being of our students, staff and families. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in our students’ education," school officials said in a news release.

Atlanta school officials on Tuesday said continued learning plans will be communicated by schools.
Staff members who are considered to be annual duty employees will remotely work, school officials said.
Families who need financial assistance, food pantries, medical care and other free or reduced-cost resources may visit APS Cares.
"Atlanta Public Schools is committed to the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your continued support and be safe," school officials said in a news release.
