Here are the top five stories today in Atlanta:
- Atlanta resident Michelle Oliver, 44, has been found guilty by a Dougherty County jury after running an unlicensed adult care center. Oliver was found guilty of moving at least 10 people more than three hours away to almost empty duplexes where they had to beg neighbors for food. The woman faces a 20-year sentence. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- Atlanta has been ranked as one of the 'Most Unfaithful Cities' by MyDatingAdvisor.com. The dating site studied 200 U.S. cities and ranked Atlanta as number nine on the list citing marriage, divorce, and separation rates. The ranking also included the amount of places to meet for an affair, Google searches of the word "affair," and the use of Ashley Madison – an affair hookup website. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Two teens were stabbed Wednesday evening in what police believe was a family dispute near the 700 block of Prince Place. Police say the teens suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. The teens were related to each other and police say charges are possible. (Atlanta Patch)
- A shooting which occurred yesterday morning at a southeast Atlanta gas station has left one man dead and another injured. The shooting took place around 10:30 a.m. on the 3000 block of Jonesboro Road, at the Pure gas station, in what police believe was a targeted attack. The victim who died was around their early 20's, and the other was between 35 and 50 years old and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. (WSB-TV)
- Lavar C. Clinton, 38, of Atlanta, has been charged with a hit-and-run from a Sep. 5 incident. The victim of the hit-and-run near Northside Drive and Thurmond Street was an 11-year-old boy who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Clinton turned himself into the police on Sep. 9. (Atlanta Patch)
