Atlanta Rapper Accused Of Slapping Woman: Report

Woman says rapper Young Thug assaulted her upon leaving College Park nightclub.

ATLANTA, GA -- Trouble with the law continues to follow rapper Young Thug, who grew up in southwest Atlanta and is one of hip-hop's most popular artists.

Young Thug, aka Jeffery Williams is accused of slapping a woman outside a College Park bar, Patch has learned.

The rapper and his fiancée were leaving a College Park bar and lounge Sunday morning when the incident happened, according to news reports.

Valerie Raven, a rapper and former protegee of Williams known as Akbar V, said that she got into an argument with Williams' fiancée and the rapper struck her on the left side of her face.

Video uploaded to Youtube shows a heated argument involving a young woman, but much of the action is obscured. According to WXIA, the woman has several witnesses who attest to her account of the altercation.

Williams is accused of simple battery, according to a College Park Police Department report, WXIA reports.

In a recent Instagram Live video, Williams' fiancee, Jerrika Karlae, denies that the rapper struck the woman. "That's not true, and I'm really sad that people are lying on my fiance," she said to the camera in a video viewed live by more than 3,000 people.

In an expletive-laced rant uploaded on social media, Raven said that "for whoever is promoting it and saying that 'She should have gotten slapped,' 'Thug should have slapped her,' let me tell y'all something: Y'all don't even know what happened."

Williams is no stranger to trouble with the law.

In December, the rapper was arrested at Lenox Square in Buckhead in connection with an outstanding warrant.
