- According to Def Jam Recordings, Atlanta-based Trouble has suddenly died. The cause of his sudden death has not been revealed yet. Trouble's legal name is Mariel Semonte Orr. He rose to fame after his 2011 song "Bussin" garnered more than 2.7 million views on YouTube. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The Atlanta Police Department is investigating a shooting that broke out at a block party in northwest Atlanta. According to the department, the incident occurred at Woodland Heights II on Center Street NW. Investigators have determined that the shooters knew each other. It is unclear what started the shooting. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Thousands of Atlanta families will no longer be able to access extra Snap benefits. On Jun. 1, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program returned its benefits to pre-pandemic levels. Now, SNAP benefits will be based on income, household size, and deductions to determine eligibility. (WSB Atlanta)
