- Atlanta area renters experienced a significant increase in rent prices this year when compared to last year's prices. A report by Rent.com reports that Southside renters experienced the largest increase at 83 percent but rent went up across dozens of Atlanta neighborhoods. - A group of World War II veterans traveled from Atlanta to Normandy on the 79th anniversary of D-Day. The veterans received a warm welcome from French officials and U.S. Ambassador Denise Campbell Bauer. The D-Day invasion remains the largest invasion by air, land, and sea in the history of mankind. - A new sweet treat location has opened in downtown Atlanta. The Peach Cobbler Factory has made its metro-Atlanta debut at 171 Auburn Ave. SE.
