Here are the top stories five today in Atlanta:

  1. For a limited time, Chick-fil-A will be selling chicken wings in Atlanta. Starting on Oct. 31 and running through Feb. 11, wings will be available at Truett’s Chick-fil-A in Stockbridge. The company has previously offered wings through its Little Blue Menu, which is only available in Nashville. (The Business Journals)
  2. Yesterday's morning commute featured intense delays due to construction on I-285, putting more stress on Ga. 400, which was reduced to three westbound lanes. One eastbound lane was closed earlier this month to allow GDOT to work on three new bridges between Ashford Dunwoody and Roswell roads. The closures are expected to last at least eight months. (Subscription, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  3. The city of Atlanta is launching a new task force for a housing program to assist people living with AIDS. Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) is a federal program and Mayor Andre Dickens announced his support of it on Oct. 20. Dickens said, “Seeing the work Jerusalem House has been doing as Atlanta’s oldest and largest HOPWA provider warms my heart and reminds me why this administration is dedicated to moving HOPWA forward.” (Reporter Newspapers + Atlanta Intown)
  4. In case you missed it: Atlanta Public Schools will offer free telehealth services to students and families without a waitlist. Mental health services will cover issues like bullying, grief, and depression, while physical health services will include medical treatment for stomach aches, headaches, and sprained ankles. APS Comprehensive Health Services Director Valencia Hildreth said, "Many of our students face significant barriers to receiving quality health care – such as cost, transportation, and provider availability. Lack of access to care can result in chronic absenteeism, which disproportionately impacts students from marginalized communities." (MDJOnline.com)
  5. A man who was pinned by his own car in a midtown parking garage around midnight on Thursday has died. Police say the man did not have his car in park while standing partially outside of it. As the car moved forward, he was trapped and pinned. The man's identity has not been released as of Thursday evening. (Atlanta Patch)
