Zoo Atlanta Wants You to Name Its Baby Gorilla
You'd better hurry. The polls close on Monday, Feb. 6.

ATLANTA, GA -- Quick, only a few days remain before Zoo Atlanta closes its vote on naming its new baby gorilla.
The western lowland gorilla infant was born on September 18 and comes from Atlanta royalty: She is a granddaughter of legendary fan favorite, the late Willie B.

Voting began in late January and will conclude on Monday, Feb. 6 at 11 p.m. ET.

The zoo said that getting the public's input in naming the gorilla is not just a democratic exercise.

"She’s also a new ambassador for a critically endangered species," the zoo said in a statement. "Your vote is more than just your choice of name and your hopes for her bright future. With your vote, you also send direct support to the conservation of wild gorillas and their habitats in Africa."
