- Two Cobb County Sheriff's deputies were shot and killed on Thursday evening while attempting to serve a warrant in an Atlanta suburb. - Two people were shot Thursday evening outside 656 Sports Bar and Grille in southwest Atlanta. Police arrived on the scene where one man was pronounced dead, and the other was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The investigation is ongoing, but police believe the shooting was the result of a dispute. (WSB Atlanta)
- Bear sightings in north metro Atlanta have residents wondering if there is more than one bear roaming the area. Sightings include Sandy Springs, Roswell, Dunwoody, and Brookhaven. - Atlanta Eagle, one of the oldest and most iconic LGBTQ bars in Atlanta, is reopening in a new location in Midtown. The bar closed in November 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Kodak Building. The Atlanta Eagle owner says the bar will be open in time for Atlanta Pride which begins on Oct. 7. (WABE 90.1 FM)
- Atlanta has been ranked as the number one top city in the United States for Gen Z. CommercialCafe released a study last month and Atlanta came in top overall for Gen Z after weighing affordability, low unemployment rates, high education enrollment numbers, greenspace, and an already existing Gen Z population. Though Atlanta was ranked number one overall, the city did not place first in any of the specific categories when put against other city competitors. (11Alive WXIA)
