Then, for two innings, the Dodgers couldn’t hit reliever A.J. Minter.
But in the top of the seventh with no outs and two on base, A.J. Pollock singles against reliever Luke Jackson with a line drive to left field, scoring Chris Taylor.
Brian Snitker replaced Jackson on the mound with Tyler Matzek, who shuts down the next six L.A. batters.
The Braves bats went silent as well, however, stranding five runners in the seventh and eighth innings.
Newnan-raised closer Will Smith notches the save, coming on in the ninth to prevent a Dodger rally.
For Rosario, the World Series berth and the Series MVP are a dream come true, he said after the game.
“When I was a little kid I always hoped for this moment,” Rosario said as he was presented the MVP trophy. “Walking to the park by myself when I was 7 years old, I would dream of this moment. Look at me now.”
