CDC Banned From Using These 7 Words In Budget Docs: Report
The banned words were presented to policy analysts at a meeting in Atlanta on Thursday, The Washington Post reported.

Officials at the CDC are reportedly being prohibited by the Trump administration from using certain words and phrases in any official documents being prepared for the upcoming budget.
The words and phrases being banned are “vulnerable,” “entitlement,” “diversity,” “transgender,” “fetus,” “evidence-based” and “science-based," The Washington Post reported. The list was presented to policy analysts at a meeting in Atlanta on Thursday.
An analyst who was in attendance at the meeting shared the list with the Post. The ban is related to the budget and other materials given to CDC partners and to Congress.

In some cases, the analysts were given alternative phrases to use. Instead of "science-based" or "evidence-based," the suggested phrase was “CDC bases its recommendations on science in consideration with community standards and wishes,” according to the Post.
No reason was given for banning the words.

The analyst who shared the words with the Post said the reaction of people in the meeting was "incredulous."
“In my experience, we’ve never had any pushback from an ideological standpoint,” the analyst told the Post.
The analyst told the Post the news of the ban hasn't reached the broader group of scientists at the CDC and will likely provoke a backlash.
