Here are the top five stories in Atlanta today:

1. A child was hit by a marked Atlanta Police Department vehicle yesterday afternoon while in the street at the intersection of Lanier Street Northwest and Joseph E. Boone Boulevard. The child sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. The child's and officer's identities have not been released, and the investigation is ongoing. (WSB Atlanta)
2. The Atlanta Police Department has arrested Jaryn Ware, of College Park, on murder and aggravated assault charges. Officials believe Ware is responsible for the August shooting of a man found dead in the 2500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Ware was arrested in Barnesville on Sep. 8 and is currently in custody at the Fulton County Jail. (Atlanta Patch)
3. Chad Williamson, 42, of Fitzgerald, is facing at least 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to possession and intent to distribute charges on Sep. 8. The man had a package marked as a "Bible gift" intercepted at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Parcel Center in March 2021. The package contained a soaked rug and 200 grams of methamphetamine. (Subscription: Macon Telegraph)
4. Mariah Carey has listed her Atlanta estate for sale after purchasing it in May 2022. The nine-bed, nine-and-a-half-plus-bath home is up for sale for $6.5 million. The grammy award winner experienced a burglary in June at the property. (Subscription: Macon Telegraph)
5. Tech giant Cisco is making a difference for Atlanta's Black colleges. Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Clark Atlanta University will receive $5 million each from the company to help grow the next generation of Black entrepreneurs. The financial commitments come in partnership with the Black Economic Alliance, a nonprofit promoting generational wealth-building. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
