- Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis have announced a new community court watch program. The program would place trained members of the public into court proceedings to track outcomes for repeat offenders. Anyone interested in applying for the new Atlanta program can do so here. - A Monday morning gas leak near Krog Street forced multiple streets to shut down and three businesses to evacuate. A contractor reportedly struck a 4-6 inch natural gas line around 10:30 a.m. that morning, prompting Atlanta Fire Rescue to conduct "atmospheric monitoring in the surrounding structures for concise air readings." During this time, roads were blocked between Edgewood Avenue and Irwin Street NW. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- One person is dead and another is injured after a family dispute outside Grady Memorial Hospital escalated into a shooting. Two of the shooters reportedly fled the scene after the Sunday night incident, with authorities still searching for the third shooter as of Monday evening. According to investigators, there is no active threat to Grady Hospital or the Atlanta community. (Atlanta Patch)
- Average gas prices in the Atlanta metro have reached a record high of $4.53 per gallon. This marks the first time the rate has gone above $4.50.
