Deadly Atlanta Carjacking Kills Older Man; Suspect Charged

A 70-year-old man was shot to death after a weekend carjacking in Atlanta, police said.

ATLANTA, GA— A 19-year-old Jonesboro man is facing murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a 70-year-old man during a suspected carjacking, Atlanta Police said Sunday.

The shooting occurred during a carjacking around 6:45 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Metropolitan Parkway Southwest. Police said officers found the 70-year-old man, who they did not identify, with a gunshot wound.

The older man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The suspect was identified as Jaylen Mosley, who was arrested and charged on suspicion of murder, police said. He was taken to the Fulton County Jail without incident, police said.
