GA Bill Seeks To Add 10 Commandments In Public Schools
New GOP-backed legislation may require Georgia's public elementary and secondary schools to display the Bible's Ten Commandments in multiple locations. If it becomes law, Georgia would be the second state behind Louisiana to mandate the Ten Commandments display in schools.
Coach Missing, College Instructor Dies At Lake Oconee
A private school coach remains missing, while the body of a college instructor was found, after the two disappeared at Lake Oconee near Wallace Dam. The wet weather this week hindered the search-and-rescue operation.

NFL's Kadarius Toney Accused Of Strangling Woman At GA Home
Former wide receiver Kadarius Toney was accused of gripping a woman's throat “with enough force to cause her to be unable to breath(e)” on Jan. 14 at his Georgia home. The two-time Super Bowl champion from Alabama is formerly of the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns.
Patrol Car Hits, Kills Pedestrian: Cops
A Georgia patrol car hit and killed a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway outside of the crosswalk. The pedestrian died at a hospital.

GA Congressman Proposes Bill To Buy Greenland, Name It 'Red, White And Blueland'
A U.S. House representative from Georgia introduced a bill that would allow President Donald Trump to acquire and rename Greenland to "Red, White and Blueland." According to the bill, Trump will be able to purchase or obtain Greenland through negotiations with Denmark government officials. Greenland is in the Arctic and is known as the largest international island.
Apalachee Mass Shooting Suspect's Dad Granted Bond
A Barrow County judge has granted a $500,000 bond for the father of the accused Apalachee High School gunman, a 14-year-old student. Colt Gray, the teenage son of Colin Gray, is accused of shooting and killing two teachers and two students on Sept. 4, 2024, at the Barrow County high school. State authorities previously said eight students and a teacher were injured.
