Neighbors on edge after two incidents in the last seven days.
ATLANTA, GA -- A pedestrian was attacked by two dogs early Monday not far from the Atlanta street where schoolchildren were recently mauled, according to news reports.
John Bullips, 48, told WSB-TV that he was headed up Chappell Road in southwest Atlanta when two pit-bull mixes came at him.
The attack caused damage to his arms and face and was so severe that Bullips lay unconscious when first responders arrived, WSB reports.

"If we hadn't did anything, they'd have killed the man," a witness who didn't want to identify himself, told the TV station.
"It makes the whole neighborhood nervous because everybody walk to the store. Go visit somebody," the witness told WXIA. "That could've been anybody, could've been some, young kid coming down the street."
The attack, which has rattled the nerves of area residents, is eerily similar to one that happened Jan. 17 less than a mile away on Gideons Drive. That's when a group of dogs jumped on three schoolchildren on their way to F.L. Stanton Elementary.
Logan Braatz, 6, was killed in the attack. Another 6-year-old, Syrai Sanders, was badly injured. A third child was reportedly treated and released. One of the dogs, pit bull mixes, was killed by police. The others were taken by Animal Control.
The funeral for Logan was held this past weekend in Lawrenceville. Attorney Andrew Goldner announced that his law firm will represent the child's family. On the firm's Facebook page, Goldner said Logan loved Georgia's sports teams:
"Joshua S. Stein and I have been asked to represent the family of the 6 year-old boy, Logan Braatz, who was mauled and tragically killed during this attack. As one would imagine, the Braatz family is devastated and attempting to deal with the greatest loss imaginable. Logan was a wonderful little boy—energetic, happy, and full of joy. Logan simply made everyone around him a better person. Logan was a huge sports fan and loved the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs. He was described by his family as an “old soul” who even at the young age of 6 took care of everyone around him."
Cameron Tucker, owner of the dogs, was charged with felony involuntary manslaughter in the attack.
In the incident this week, Animal control picked up the two dogs, but their owner has not been located by investigators, according to the TV station.
Logan's family has set up a memorial fund to care for funeral costs.
