Atlanta Police initially reported that the gunfire possibly was the result of an altercation between the two men.

According to the GBI, the policeman was working an off-duty job enforcing parking for ATL Plus and was sitting in his patrol vehicle “when he was approached by a man who shot a firearm at the officer, hitting the officer in the neck.”
