GA Election Day Weather: Showers Likely Ahead Of Tropical Storm Rafael
Daily showers are predicted in GA, and Tropical Storm Rafael could enter the Gulf of Mexico may bring heavy rainfall to the Southeast.
GEORGIA — Election Day will be foggy, then partly sunny before potential showers, according to the National Weather Service's forecast.
Expected rainfall is set to last daily through Sunday. The prediction nearly falls in line with The National Hurricane Center's forecast of heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Rafael eyeing the Gulf of Mexico.
The system, a tropical storm as of Monday evening, is anticipated to bring heavy rainfall into parts of the Southeast mid- to late week, the NHC said.

Jamaica may see tropical storm conditions on Monday evening, the NHC said.
TD 18 could travel into the Gulf by late week, but the track was uncertain on Monday.
"If it becomes a named storm, as it is currently forecast to, this would become Tropical Storm Rafael (rah-fah-ELL), the 8th storm to affect the Gulf of Mexico this season," the NWS said on Facebook.
There is a 30 percent chance of rain in Savannah starting Tuesday.
The NWS said the amount of rain and the area of the heaviest rainfall was uncertain Monday. However, generally, areas along and south of Interstate 85 have the highest opportunity to see 1 inch or more of rain.
