This GA Eatery Is Among Esquire’s Best New Restaurants In America
Juices from steak-frites trimmings cascade onto potato puree at this Georgia eatery, which is among the best new restaurants nationally.
GEORGIA — Little Sparrow in Atlanta has made Esquire’s exclusive 2024 list of the Best New Restaurants in America, which was released Tuesday.
The list of 35 restaurants includes eateries that punch above their price point, are romantic enough for date night, or just a great place for a boozy, delicious night out with friends, Esquire said.
The menu at Little Sparrow comes with a free “bread service: a 72-hour fermented bâtard accompanied by a generous peel of warm butter sprinkled with Maldon salt sitting on a plate of olive oil,” Esquire said.

The writer continued:
“The cheese pull from the French-onion soup—a mixture of Mahón and Gruyère—would make Philippe Petit grab his balancing pole. A saucisson—made with steak-frites trimmings from Bar Blanc upstairs—gives freely of its juices atop a divan of potato puree. Then there’s La Vie En Rose, a steak haché sitting in a pool of compound butter. It comes with a Lincoln Log cabin of thrice-fried frites tossed in beef fat. Why not double down? Order the raclette service so that you can pour melted cheese on top of the fries and let it commingle with butter and beef jus. Do not go gentle into that good night.”

California and New York each had eight mentions on the list, including the “Restaurant of the Year,” Four Kings in San Francisco, and the “Comeback of the Year,” Le Veau d’Or in New York City.
Other states with restaurants on the list include Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas, with two each, and Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Washington and the District of Columbia, with one each.
