Coming in at No. 1 on the list was the pulled pork barbecue enjoyed by University of Georgia tailgaters.
On Saturdays in Athens, the air fills with the unmistakable smell of pulled pork smoking low and slow. UGA tailgaters pride themselves on barbecue that’s tender enough to fall apart with a fork, piled high on buns or served with a scoop of tangy slaw," the survey authors wrote. "It’s hearty, messy and best washed down with sweet tea or a cold beer."
The lemon pepper wings served up at Atlanta Falcons tailgates also made the list at No. 21.
"In Atlanta, lemon pepper wings are practically a cultural icon, and Falcons tailgates bring them out in full force. Fans fry or bake the wings until crisp, then toss them in a buttery lemon-pepper sauce that leaves fingers shiny and mouths tingling," the survey authors wrote.
