GA Lawmaker Arrested, Accused Of Hitting Bicyclist: GSP
Georgia House Rep. Devan Seabaugh, who is reportedly facing DUI charges, was accused of hitting a bicyclist during a Fulton County crash.

ATLANTA, GA — Georgia Rep. Devan Seabaugh was arrested Thursday night after being accused of hitting a bicyclist while driving in Fulton County, the Georgia State Patrol said Friday.
Troopers from the NightHawks North DUI Task Force responded around 9:15 p.m. to the Memorial Drive crash at Park Avenue, the GSP said.
Authorities identified Seabaugh as the driver of the vehicle that hit a bicyclist who was in a bike lane. Seabaugh was taken to the Atlanta City Jail, authorities said.

The GSP did not identify potential charges in the case. However, Fox 5 Atlanta reported Seabaugh was charged on suspicion of driving under the influence and failure to obey traffic control devices.
“Today I’m thankful that no one was seriously hurt in last night’s traffic incident," Seabaugh said in a statement released Friday via Facebook. "I appreciate the professionalism of the law enforcement officers on the scene, and we will let the legal process continue to play out. I look forward to the facts coming out and providing clarity to all concerned."

Seabaugh, a Republican who serves District 34 in the Georgia House of Representatives, was first elected in July 2021 during a special election. District 34 covers Marietta, Kennesaw and parts of unincorporated west Cobb County.
The Marietta native and former paramedic is up for re-election against Democrat Karl Gallegos. Seabaugh's term is set to end on Jan. 13, 2025.
