The stadium's debut has had some delays due to the functionality of the retractable roof, but AMB brass have vowed that the city's newest sports venue will be ready by the Falcons' August 26 preseason game. The city's new soccer club, Atlanta United, will also play at the stadium.
“Mercedes-Benz Stadium is focused on delivering an unmatched guest experience to everyone who enters the building,” Tim Zulawski, SVP and chief commercial officer, AMB Sports and Entertainment said in a statement. “It was important for us to not only find an artist who could deliver the biggest show in the world, but also has the same fan-focused ideals. We know the best artist who can deliver and that is Garth Brooks.”
