Georgia Weather Forecast: Heat Wave, Storm Chances

Dangerous "feels like" temperatures expected Monday, with a week of temperatures in the 90s, according to the National Weather Service.

Daily storm threats aren't going anywhere, but the real story this week in weather is going to be the heat.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible every day this week, with the chance for isolated severe storms, according to the National Weather Service.

But, we'll also have to keep an eye on the heat. High temps climb to the mid-90s by Tuesday and hang out.

The heat index, or "feels like" temperature, is expected to reach 100 degrees on Monday and the upper 90s throughout the week.

The Weather Channel notes that the heat index for areas to the west of us will climb to 110 degrees.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 100. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. North wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.
