Georgia Weather Forecast: Rain Showers This Week, And a Limited Cold Spell

ATLANTA, GA — We'll have several chances for wet weather this week, as stories of heavy snow up north translate into showers here in Georgia, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers kick off the week Monday morning, along with patchy fog. The rest of the day will be cloudy, but the high will reach 60 degrees. Showers are likely again Tuesday morning and into the early afternoon, with a high near 62 degrees.

The clearest day — Thursday — will also be our coldest, with a high only hitting 47 degrees. We'll drop to around freezing on Thursday night, but overnight lows will be in the 40s for most of the rest of the week.

Conditions start warming up Friday and we'll be back to 57 degrees by Saturday, with the extended forecast calling for above-normal temperatures through next week.

Tonight: Patchy drizzle before 9pm, then patchy drizzle with a chance of rain after 9pm. Cloudy, with a low around 41. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Monday: Showers likely, mainly after 10am. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 60. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 62. East wind around 5 mph becoming west in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 47.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 46.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 57.
