'Get Your Son Before I Kill Him': DeKalb Man Accused Of Brutalizing 8-Year-Old
Raphael Wright, 26, of Stone Mountain is facing aggravated assault and child cruelty charges for allegedly choking, punching, kicking boy.

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA -- A DeKalb County man is behind bars after allegedly brutalizing an 8-year-old boy, including choking, kicking and whipping the child's naked body, Patch has learned. Raphael Wright, 26, of Stone Mountain is facing aggravated assault and child cruelty charges, according to news reports.
Before things allegedly got violent, Wright texted a relative, “You better come get your son before I kill him,” according to a warrant obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Wright grabbed the boy by his neck, lifting him “high off the ground into the air,” the newspaper reports. The man also allegedly body-slammed the child. The incident occurred three months ago, but authorities just recently secured an arrest warrant for Wright, according to DeKalb law enforcement.

Wright was reported to be the boy's uncle, according to WAGA. The man was arrested during a traffic stop on Aug. 8.
