Gunman Who Shot Off-Duty Officer In Atlanta Still At Large
Atlanta police seek gunman who shot off-duty Georgia State University police officer on city street in July.

ATLANTA, GA -- Police in Atlanta are appealing to the public to help find a gunman who recently shot an off-duty Georgia State University police officer, authorities said. The incident occurred July 30 after 9:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Donnelly Avenue in southwest Atlanta.

One of the men was on a bike while the other was on foot, authorities said.

“At some point, one of the males told them to give it up,” Atlanta police Sgt. John Chafee told WSB-TV. “A struggle ensued between one of the females and one of the males and the male on the bicycle produced a firearm and fired at least one time at the female.”
Crook was rushed to the hospital with gunshot wounds to her torso and hand, while her friend was not injured, the TV station reports.

Authorities have released a sketch of the gunman, described as a black male between the ages of 16-20 years old and 5’09”-5’11” in height.
