Severe Storms To Bring Hazards To GA: What To Know

Forecasters said a severe storm could slam much of Georgia on Thursday with hail and high winds, while rain lingers the rest of the week.

ATLANTA, GA — Forecasters are warning that a severe storm could hit north and central Georgia on Thursday, posing a risk for 60 mph winds and hail.

While the area was not at risk for tornadoes, isolated strong to severe thunderstorms could be an issue for residents by Thursday afternoon and evening, National Weather Service meteorologist Ryan Willis told Patch.

A detailed forecast showed the storm's arrival after noon but before 7 p.m. The storm may produce quarter-sized hail and gusty winds, Willis said.
