Man Killed During Attempted Theft Of Undercover Police Car
An officer was pumping gas into his undercover vehicle Tuesday night when the man jumped in and tried to steal the car.

ATLANTA -- A man was shot to death by an Atlanta police officer Tuesday night when, police said, he attempted to steal the officer's undercover car. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the incident occurred at a Shell station at McDaniel and Whitehall streets around 7:30 pm. The officer was pumping gas when the suspect jumped into the driver's car.
Police said the officer confronted the suspect before he opened fire. But then the suspect took off and eventually crashed the car into two other parked vehicles.
He was found dead inside. The officer was not injured.
