  1. A man was stabbed yesterday morning in Southwest Atlanta. Police responded to Willis Mill Road around 9:53 a.m. to find an unconscious man with multiple lacerations to his back. The man was taken to the hospital and police believe the stabbing was the result of an argument between the victim and suspect. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. Family Dollar has issued a recall in Georgia on Colgate products. The recall is being conducted out of caution after customers say they became ill after using certain Colgate tooth cleaning products purchased from Family Dollar stores. Family Dollar believes the products were stored outside of the required safe temperature range. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. Grady Memorial Hospital will become the eighth trauma center in the country to become a trauma center training site for the Army. The U.S. Army Surgeon General’s Office and Grady Memorial Hospital held a signing ceremony on Sep. 19 to announce their partnership. Army trauma teams will be able to improve their clinical skills at the hospital, while also teaching staff about combat and casualty care. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. Conservative Black leaders in Atlanta held a town hall meeting on Saturday in an effort to draw more republican votes ahead of midterm elections. Topics which speakers at the town hall brought up included employment and government assistance, crime, and more. A recent study found eight percent of Black voters identified as republicans. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  5. The City of Atlanta purchased the Chattahoochee Brick Company site where African-Americans were forced to work in very poor conditions. The city celebrated the accomplishment on Saturday with a ceremony and says they plan to create a park at the site with direct access to the Chattahoochee River. The site was initially going to be for industrial use. (CBS 46 News)
