MARTA Police Officer Seriously Injured In Car Accident: Police
A MARTA officer was seriously injured when his motorcycle in a funeral procession was hit, authorities say.
ATLANTA, GA — A MARTA police officer suffered serious injuries and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital on Friday afternoon after he was hit by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle in a funeral procession, according to media reports.
The accident occurred on Fairburn Road near Thompson Drive in Northwest Atlanta, the Atlanta police said.
The officer, who was off duty, was hit by a commercial van, the Atlanta Journal-Constitutionreported. He was reported to be conscious and alert at the time of the accident.
