Airline Set To Fly Into Atlanta Airport With New Nonstop Service

Avelo Airlines will become the first and sole airline to take travelers nonstop from Atlanta to southern Connecticut.

ATLANTA, GA — A new nonstop service will take travelers from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia's capital city to southern Connecticut, Hartsfield announced this week.

Avelo Airlines will start offering nonstop flights May 2 from Atlanta to Connecticut's Tweed-New Haven Airport, Airport officials said Tuesday.

According to Hartsfield, Avelo will become the first and sole airline to provide this continuing service.

"We are pleased to welcome Avelo Airlines and their new nonstop service to ATL," Airport General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari said in a news release. "This partnership offers a new cost-effective option for our business and leisure travelers to explore the beauty and attractions of Atlanta and southern Connecticut.”

The route includes travel four times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, using a Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. Reservations can be via Avelo Airlines.

Avelo first began service in April 2021 and has flown more than 4 million people on at least 30,000 flights, according to the release.

Hartsfield tweeted on Jan. 24 the airport served "a record-breaking 104.7 million passengers" in 2023.
