  1. Police upgraded charges for a woman murdering a 5-year-old boy and putting him in a suitcase on the side of a Vegas road in April. Dawn Coleman assisted with getting rid of the body; however, according to a police affidavit, Coleman said his mother had already killed the boy. Dejuan Anderson, the mother, is still on the run. Coleman faces a new charge of aiding in murder, which could mean up to 65 years in prison. (WSB Radio)
  2. A man was arrested for shooting a handgun in the air yesterday and is charged with reckless conduct. When police took Joel Ferrer Blasco, 24, into custody, they recovered multiple empty shell casings. It is unknown why the incident occurred. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. The Georgia Supreme Court reinstated the abortion ban after about six weeks of pregnancy, which Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney overturned last week because it was invalid. A lower court ruling overturning the ban is on hold while the Supreme Court considers an appeal. (Associated Press)
  4. A shooting at Super Sound Studios, owned by Atlanta rapper T.I., led to one man in the hospital yesterday morning. According to police, the property owner said two unknown men came into the studio with firearms. Both parties shot at each other, and one of the unidentified men was shot and taken to the hospital. He is now in stable condition, and no charges have been made. (Atlanta Patch)
  5. Physicians in Atlanta are encouraging residents to be cautious during the holidays as respiratory illness cases are rising in the city. Influenza, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus mainly impact children and immunocompromised people. (WSB Atlanta)
