- The real-life Hawkins lab from Netflix's hit-show "Stranger Things" is being demolished in Atlanta. The former Georgia Mental Health Institute is part of Emory University which had a lease with Galerie Living for equal housing for seniors. The pair is developing 32 acres of the property to create a senior living community. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Michaels arts and crafts stores are looking to hire for hundreds of thousands of positions before the start of the holiday season. Atlanta stores will have 250 open positions, with 400 roles available in stores throughout the state. All hiring events will take place in stores at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sep. 17. (WSB Atlanta)
- Atlanta police released new video footage of suspects in the shooting of a Marietta teen who was killed at a graduation party on May 21. Grayson Green, 17, was shot inside the Walton Village apartment complex. Crime Stoppers and the property management company have partnered to increase the reward leading to an arrest of the shooter to $10,000. (WSB Atlanta)
- President and founder of BlackPush, Shaun Smith, brought law enforcement leaders together to discuss gun violence in metro Atlanta. The nonprofit leader organized a roundtable on Saturday. Smith said there is an urgent need to have more conversations about gun violence prevention and how mental health issues play a part. (CBS 46 News)
- The community raised $30,000 for a woman who was victim to a hit-and-run in Buckhead in August. Valerie Pableo spent almost two weeks in the hospital after a driver in a black sedan slammed into her – never stopping– at the intersection of Peachtree Road and Mathieson Drive. The GoFundMe money raised will help pay for Pableo's medical expenses. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
