- A man was shot to death outside a grocery store on McDonough Boulevard. According to police, officers were called to a fire station on Boulevard Southeast at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday in connection to the shooting. The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are still investigating the incident as of Sunday evening. (WSB Atlanta)
- Storms in the Atlanta metro have downed trees and closed down lanes on I-75 south. A tree in Brookhaven was downed on Saturday due to the storms. Click the link to see footage of downed trees and damaged roadways. (CBS 46 News)
- Six people were rescued from the Chattahoochee River by Atlanta Fire Rescue Department crews on Saturday. According to officials, crews were called to a home along Cochise Drive to rescue the individuals from river. Firefighters found a woman holding onto a limb with one hand and holding a tube connected to five other people with the other hand. Firefighters then used a pike pole and a ladder to help the group reach the bank and climb out. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- A new Google office is coming to midtown Atlanta. Google shared a first look at the new office along with a statement about their commitment to Atlanta and Georgia overall. - One person is dead after a car fire on I-75 on Friday night. According to Atlanta Fire and Rescue, the fire began after a two-car accident just before 11:00 p.m. One person was trapped inside one of the vehicles, which was fully engulfed in flames. The occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. (11Alive.com WXIA)
