College football bowl games: Schedule, TV channels for Dec. 13 (fbschedules.com) — Atlanta football fans get the first bowl action of the season today as the Cricket Celebration Bowl kicks off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, matching Prairie View A&M against South Carolina State at noon on ABC. The game, widely viewed as the HBCU national championship, bookends a day of college football that also features the Army-Navy Game and the LA Bowl later tonight.

Death penalty opponents organize vigils against execution of convicted killer Humphreys (wsbtv.com) — Atlanta residents opposed to the death penalty are planning a vigil on the Georgia Capitol steps Dec. 17 as part of a statewide push to stop the execution of Stacey Humphreys. Faith leaders will deliver a clemency petition to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles Dec. 15, with additional prayer circles and vigils in Jackson and other Georgia cities if the execution proceeds.
